Six Months Into Retirement and Fall Exhibits

Six Months Into Retirement

Six months into retirement after a 20 year career and I find myself still exploring what I truly want my new routine to be—this time has been a season of growth, creativity, and joy.

I’ve been leaning into watercolor art—creating, exhibiting, designing products, earning awards—and even had the privilege of illustrating the children’s book My ABC Book of Horses—A Poetic Ride Through The Alphabet, written by Rachel Brown. It would mean so much to us if you’d consider ordering the book and sharing it with a friend. If you’ve already placed an order, thank you! Please consider leaving a review on Amazon—it truly helps more families discover the book.

Developing and launching my new website, blog, email list, and Etsy shop has opened exciting new doors to share my art with even more people. While my website will continue to be the go-to shop for ordering online, my new Etsy shop will offer a few of the same items to provide a convenient shopping opportunity for those who haven’t discovered my website yet.

There has also been time for connection—lunch with friends, road trip with my parents, shopping adventures, and family outings and celebrations. A virus delayed our camping trip, but we’ll reschedule soon!

I've found that stepping away from some commitments has made room for some exciting opportunities. This chapter is teaching me to balance downtime, creativity, and connection in ways I never imagined.

I'm feeling grateful for new beginnings—a blank page to paint the next chapter of my life.

Fall Exhibits

I’m excited to share that my art is on display in two exhibits throughout September and October.

Watercolor on Canvas

On display at Savings Bank, 1100 Airport Park Blvd in Ukiah, is a selection of watercolor on canvas—a non-traditional surface for watercolor that creates depth and texture in unexpected ways. This collection allowed me to push boundaries as I discovered how water and pigment interact differently beyond paper.

Tides and Treasures

This nautical themed collection is featured at Savings Bank, 290 S. Main St. in Lakeport. Tides and Treasures is inspired by the rugged shoreline, coastal birds, and the beauty of found objects.

Both exhibits will be on display through the end of October, giving plenty of time to visit these locations and enjoy. I would love for you to stop by to view my art. Your support always means so much to me!
