Located on the southwest corner of Perkins and Dora Streets, the Held–Poage Memorial Home has served as the headquarters of the Historical Society of Mendocino County since 1969. This watercolor honors a place dedicated to preserving the stories, people, and history that shape our community—an enduring reminder of Ukiah’s commitment to remembering its past.The Our Hometown Ukiah collection is especially close to my heart. The paintings celebrate the familiar places and local charm that make our community special—the spots we pass every day, where memories are made and where life unfolds. It isn’t about landmarks alone. It’s about connection, familiarity, and belonging.
